Engineers help change the world we live in, shaping economic, environmental and social outcomes.

The nature of work is also changing, shaped by economic, technological and societal changes. Very little is known, however, about how engineering work is changing. The BeLongEng Project aims to generate evidence on the changing nature of engineering work.

To achieve this, the BeLongEng Project is tracking a large group of engineers to understand the work of engineers, their work environments, and how these change with time.

The evidence generated from the BeLongEng project will serve as a platform for policy change in engineering work and engineering education, to ensure that educational institutions and the workforce are responding to the changes in engineering.
